Siulas is the name of the winged creature that appears in a big part of Alsius' art and architecture. It was actually created by the enemy survivors of incursions into the emprire's mainland. Fighting in the snow was very difficult for foreign races, and when they saw the Alsirian warriors run down the snowy hills at great speeds, they said they saw a winged wolf about to devour them. The animal was adopted as a symbol, both in art and religion. He is belived to be the protector spirit of all those in battle, and festivals are celebrated in his honor. He can sometimes be seen battling Smirraz, a snake that fought the dwarves in ancient times. |
